ROPE: Length proportional to the size of the Gymnast (cf Ruling Code F.I.G.). No handful, but edge with or without knot. Free weight. The edges (except for any other part of the rope) can be covered, as far as 10 cm maximum, in a non-slippery manner. Uniform diameter or reinforced median. Colour : must be colored with a very visible colour.

RIBBON: For National or International under-17 category , as well as for lower categories, a 5 meter length is authorized.

REMINDER: Free apparatus colour. Clubs can be in different colours.

RULES: Concerning Detection, Youth, Hopeful Youngters the standards applied are those of age category.

Apparatuses used by a group must all be identical (weight, shape and dimensions). Only colour can be different.


Rules concerning a gymnast’s uniform

• Gymnastics leotards must be correct and non transparent. Consequently, leotards having lace parts must be lined (trunk area, down to the breast).
• The décolleté of the front and rear part of the back of a leotard must be decent. It should not be below half the sternum and the base line of shoulder plate areas.
• Leotards can be with or without sleeves. Leotards having thin braces are not allowed.
• Leotard opening to a leg level must not exceed groin fold (maximum).
• Free leotard colours.
• Gymnasts are allowed to wear tights on leotards as long as ankles, or a one-piece leotard (unitard), provided it sticks to the body and legs. It is allowed to add to the leotard a skirt, sticking to the hips which does not fall below the pelvis.
OUTFITS: Identical leotards (in shape) and colour for gymnasts of a same group. The other standards provided for uniforms must be respected too.
• HAIR STYLE: must be neat and sober.
• Bare feet or sandals (half-shoes) allowed.
CONTROL: Gymnasts uniforms will be controlled before entering the competition hall. A new checking can take place at the end of the performance if a senior jury member asked for it.
